Google announces ‘Doodle 4 Google 2018’ contest for Indian students, offers scholarship worth 5 lakh

Google has announced the ‘2018 Doodle 4 Google’ contest for the Indian students. This is a golden opportunity for the students to win a scholarship worth Rs 5 Lakh. Google has invited students from Class 1 to Class 10 to submit their doodles. The Google Doodle theme for 2018 is “what inspires you.”

The last date for the submission of the theme based Doodle is October 6 till 10:00pm Indian Standard Time (IST). The contest was announced on 13th of August, Monday. The winning doodle of the Google logo will be featured on www.google.co.in for a day on the Children’s Day i.e 14th November, 2018. The Doodle 4 Google contest aims at encouraging the art-loving students to bring their imagination to life in a doodle.

The doodle for the contest can be made using crayons, clay, water colours, and graphic designs, incorporating G-O-O-G-L-E. The intersted candidates have to bring their imagination to life for the Google’s logo.

The award winning doodle will get a college scholarship worth Rs 5 lakh along with an opportunity to showcase their talent to millions of people visitng the giant search engine logo. The winning masterpiece will also be shared on Google’s homepage on the Children’s Day. The original doodle team leader at Google Ryan Germick shall review all the entires along with an expert panel of judges. Top 20 entries will be shortlisted to be presented and reviewed by the expert panel of judges. The top 20 entries will be shortlisted by the internal judging and jury votes and then these 20 entries will go for public voting from October 23 to November 5.

The first edition of “Doodle 4 Google India” was held in 2009 and the theme was “My India”. The same contest also runs in regions including Canada, Latin America, and several Asian countries.

Here are the steps to register for ‘Doodle 4 Google 2018’ contest:

1. Download the contest form

2. Create a Doodle for Google using any material a candidate wants

3. Write a Doodle Description; Explain what is the Doodle all about and what inspires you

4. Fill the rest of the required information in the entry form

5. Submit your contest form.
